- First steps
With a background in telecoms systems engineering and operating a small telecoms consultancy, I joined Devoteam in a hybrid operations/sales role. This enabled me to work closely within key customers on large programmes to analyse requirements effectively and utilise my engineering expertise to promote and sell the optimum solutions, expand our resource base and increase revenues.
- Career milestones
I started my career in 1996 with Ericsson UK as a systems engineer within their Mobile Networks. A few years later, I took the contractor route in various roles across Europe, USA and the Caribbean. This enabled me to gain invaluable experience and build a solid network to start up a small telecoms consultancy in the UK. At this point I joined Devoteam in January 2008. The initial hybrid role was very successful and evolved into dedicated sales for telecoms. I was recently appointed to Account Director for Devoteam's Network Transformation division.
- Everyday life
The Network Transformation business unit owes much of its success to the close relationship between sales, pre-sales and operations and understanding sales vs delivery. Coming from an engineering and operational background, I often support operations, service delivery and recruitment. We also support and collaborate with other NT business units across the Group and Northern Europe. Having the opportunity to work across borders to expand my knowledge and experience is an enormous privilege.
- Personal life
Anyone in telecoms knows it is a difficult and hectic life. So, I enjoy relaxing beach holidays with my family. I also enjoy going to the gym and have previously competed in Vodafone UK's 1st Squash Team, representing them in UK & World corporate games competitions, winning silver and bronze medals in the team and Over 39s competitions. I also enjoy watching my son play rugby and my daughter play hockey at representative level.
